Bessie Rhodes kindergarteners explore STEM concepts with gingerbread houses
Brenda Martinez’s students are feeling the winter spirit! Her Bessie Rhodes kindergarten students recently teamed up with their tablemates to create their own gingerbread houses. What appears at first glance as a fun, hands-on activity also served as an opportunity for students to explore basic STEM concepts like stability, balance, measurement, and the reaction of ingredients to different surfaces.
If your child will be 5 years old on or before September 1, it’s time to register for kindergarten! D65 hosts monthly kindergarten orientation sessions, which include information about the registration process and district programs; the next session will be held at Joseph E. Hill Education Center on January 15 at 6:30 p.m. We can’t wait to welcome your student for the start of their educational journey!
