Kindergarteners create gingerbread houses

Brenda Martinez’s students are feeling the winter spirit! Her Bessie Rhodes kindergarten students recently teamed up with their tablemates to create their own gingerbread houses. What appears at first glance as a fun, hands-on activity also served as an opportunity for students to explore basic STEM concepts like stability, balance, measurement, and the reaction of ingredients to different surfaces.

Kindergarteners parade for Hispanic Heritage Month

In honor of Mexican Independence Day, Ms. Martinez and Ms. Zamudio's kindergarten classes colored their own Mexican flags and had a parade around the school! The entire school is gearing up for their annual Hispanic Heritage Spirit Week, which will be held from September 30 to October 4 and includes a family celebration with food and music. Way to turn up the J-Factor, Bessie Rhodes!
